Erkki Leego
For over 20 years, I have helped the correct information to reach the right person at the right time in the right place.

Following the restoration of Estonia’s independence, I took part in the process of developing a modern democratic society by working at the University of Tartu, the Office of the President of the Republic, and the Chancellery of the Riigikogu.

Managing the Informatics Service at the Tartu University Hospital provided me with extensive experience, a sixth sense when it comes to data processing, as well as an increased sense of responsibility. Round-the-clock activity, the different needs of 80 specialised fields of medicine, nearly 20 large information system applications and elevated security requirements, brought about very interesting strategic and tactical challenges.

Since 2005, I have been excited to discover new fields of activity and the peculiarities of information processing as a leading partner and expert at Leego Hansson. The charm of Leego Hansson, for me personally, is our team of experts who are able to understand each other effortlessly and whom one can trust implicitly, no matter the situation, as well as the diversity of our work – there are many new companies, people, situations and needs. We have participated, to a lesser or greater extent, in the development of nearly 100 companies.

My academic education is represented by a Master’s degree in Informatics and the vocation of Lecturer in Informatics at the University of Tartu. My studies were complemented by my experiences as an exchange student at Århus University, the University of Barcelona, and Saarland University. I keep in touch with the teaching-side of things by providing a series of lectures, “Planning User Interfaces”, at the University of Tartu.

The main subjects of my public speeches have been IT management, data protection, personal medicine and education. I have compiled IT management study materials for general education schools and acted as editor-in-chief for the IT management handbook issued by Äripäev.

Organisationally, I am associated with the Estonian Students’ Society and the Tartu Toome Rotary Club.

I enjoy sporting activities, travelling, technology, theatre and cinema. The new hobby that I have particularly enjoyed over the past few years is diving.

I am married to my wife Merike, and we have a son named Steven and a daughter named Stella.
